  • Several roads in Arlington are closed this weekend for local events—N. Irving Street is blocked Saturday morning for the Bunny Hop 5K from about 6:30 a.m. to 10 a.m., parts of Washington Boulevard and N. Highland Street face restrictions during the Festival of the Arts, and Cherry Hill and N. Woodrow Streets have traffic changes Sunday for the Earth Day Festival.  WJLA

ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • On April 25th at about 7:15 a.m., a teenage girl who rides her bike and attends Swanson Middle School in Westover was struck by a driver who did not stop at the stop sign—she was rushed to a local trauma center in stable condition and no citation was issued.  ARLnow

BUSINESS NEWS

  • A D.C. deli inspired by New York foods will open this summer at 1028 N. Garfield Street in Clarendon — a space that previously housed UnCommon Luncheonette. Founder Gina Chersevani, a veteran mixologist, will serve deli sandwiches, egg creams, and cocktails while adding menu items that honor her Sicilian heritage — including braised swordfish and stuffed knishes.  ARLnow
  • Restaurateur Keshar Jarga Magar—joined by his brother Dip Jarga Magar and business partner Tuk Prasad Gurung—opened Himalayan Wild Yak in Ashburn in 2022 to bring Nepalese cooking to local diners. They have now opened a second location in Ballston with the same goal.  ARLnow
  • Club Pilates will open its new studio at 3000 Washington Blvd in Clarendon in late July as it replaces Urban Kempo, a martial arts studio that closed last year. The studio will offer 50-minute Pilates classes for all skill levels along with pre-sale discounts — including free first-time classes and a 20% discount on three-month memberships.  ARLnow

CULTURE NEWS

  • Residents in the DMV are signing up for improv classes at Washington Improv Theater to ease stress and build community—classes will start tomorrow, April 27. More than 1,000 adults have taken these courses over 25 years to learn better communication and teamwork.  ARLnow

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Arlington DMV centers have seen more customers as residents rush to get REAL ID licenses before the May 7 deadline. Recent reports show wait times of 22 minutes at S. Four Mile Run Drive and 39 minutes at Virginia Square (the statewide average wait was 16.2 minutes), prompting officials to urge checking requirements online to speed the process.  ARLnow
