- ➤ County leaders are asking Arlington residents for input on the transition period before banning gas-powered leaf blowers, with an online survey open until October 29 to decide if residents and businesses should get 18, 24, or 36 months to adjust. - ➤ Following January’s midair collision near Reagan National that killed 67 people, the FAA is permanently updating helicopter rules at Reagan National, Dulles, and BWI Marshall—raising flight altitudes at Dulles and rerouting paths near BWI—to boost separation from planes. - ➤ The Arlington County Fire Department is warning residents about the dangers of lithium-ion batteries during Fire Prevention Week—urging them to use approved chargers and to drop off batteries at designated hazardous waste sites.
