- ➤ Police investigated an armed robbery that occurred Tuesday afternoon at Upton Hill Regional Park near Arlington's western border— a masked man demanded cash from a man walking in the park before fleeing on foot with an undisclosed amount, and no injuries were reported. ARLnow
- ➤ Longtime makeup artist Renee Baldwin was shot Sunday at an apartment on Fairfax Drive in Virginia Square and later died at a local hospital—her son, Logan Chrisinger, has been charged with first-degree murder, aggravated malicious wounding, and using a firearm in the commission of a felony. - ➤ A Wall Street Journal report found that paying for five years of child care costs nearly $147,000 in Arlington, making it the priciest county for this service in the nation. - ➤ Arlington County Police installed 10 new speed cameras this summer and will have them operate when school zone lights flash as students return to school Monday, with violators facing $100 tickets after a 30-day warning period.
