- ➤ A collaboration led by Rev. Ashley Goff of Arlington Presbyterian Church and artist Sushmita Mazumdar placed stumbling stickers on South Arlington sidewalks yesterday to mark spots where ICE arrested residents. The group plans to install additional markers in nearby neighborhoods—building a community map of memory as they record confirmed detentions. ARLnow

- ➤ Whole Foods is moving ahead with a new Daily Shop market in Crystal City as shown by fresh signage at 1550 Crystal Drive—public records indicate the store is awaiting permits for plumbing, electrical and mechanical work along with a pending beer and wine license. The first Daily Shop in the area will serve quick shoppers in a compact, urban space. ARLnow

- ➤ Police investigated a fatal fall from a Ballston apartment tower when a man jumped from an upper story of the Meridian building at 900 N. Stuart Street early Wednesday evening—yellow tape was placed around the building as onlookers gathered and parts of N. Stuart Street were closed. ARLnow
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Arlington Economic Development announced that the Arlington ArtWalk will take place on October 4 at 3:00 p.m. in Clarendon, Virginia Square and Ballston—local businesses and art lovers can join the self-guided celebration to enjoy art displays and special offers. ARLnow
- ➤ Multiple Oktoberfest events will take place in Arlington and nearby areas this fall—one event at the Clarendon Ballroom on Sept 27, another Blocktoberfest at Wilson Blvd and N. Irving on Oct 18, and other celebrations in Tysons, McLean, Falls Church, and Alexandria offering Bavarian food, beer, and live music. ARLnow
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Arlington Public Schools will require high school students to lock their phones in magnetic pouches during the school day to curb distractions and support learning. - ➤ Arlington County staff are launching public outreach events next month to gather feedback on potential limits for impervious surfaces in low-density neighborhoods — the effort aims to reduce flood risks and heat.
