- ➤ Falafel Inc, an award-winning fast-casual restaurant known for Middle Eastern street foods, announced plans to open a new location in Crystal City at 500 23rd Street S. on Restaurant Row. The restaurant will offer signature chicken shawarma and falafel dishes — it will also donate part of its revenue to support food aid for refugees. ARLnow
- ➤ Arlington entrepreneur Scott Parker spent 13 years opening local shops and now is looking to buy long-standing businesses in the city—he will reply to interested owners within 24 hours and keep offers private. ARLnow
- ➤ L.A. Bar & Grill on Columbia Pike launched a Bolivian menu this summer that features four varieties of pique macho—dishes made with fries, meat, eggs and vegetables—through a pop-up called Chillamicito in partnership with chef Andrés Ferrufino. The new menu reflects owner Richard Arnez’s effort to share his Bolivian heritage with local patrons. ARLnow

- ➤ Arlington Arts invites residents to learn mending techniques at the final Arlington Art Truck activation—PATCH OR SWAP A Textile Rescue Lab—at Rosslyn Jazz Fest on Sept. 6. The event, led by artist Roxana Geffen, runs through Sept. 27 and offers free materials, a garment swap, and a tour of local artist studios on Sept. 27 and 28. ARLnow

- ➤ In Arlington, home sales jumped 22% in July to 239 transactions while average prices fell 4.9% to $870,109 and days on market increased from 18 to 21; buyers remain cautious as economic worries result in an expanded inventory of 431 available homes this month—reflecting continued market cooldown. - ➤ Arlington Public Schools have chosen SchoolAI as its main artificial-intelligence tool for classrooms and operations in the coming school year after a pilot program with 400 educators last year—staff will also have access to Microsoft Copilot, Google Gemini and NotebookLM for work.
