- ➤ Arlington Fire and EMS responded at 10:45 a.m. Thursday to multiple vehicle fires at the intersection of 33rd St S and Crystal Drive — a fire in one vehicle spread to three others with no injuries reported and the cause deemed unsuspicious. DC News Now

- ➤ Oasis: The Listening Bar opened its doors at 2940 Clarendon Blvd earlier this month with a soft-opening menu while it awaits its liquor license — the restaurant will host its first DJ night tomorrow and debut its full bar and menu on Aug. 21 with a 20% discount until that date. ARLnow
- ➤ Megaformer, a new boutique fitness studio using the Lagree method, is set to open this winter at 1016 N. Garfield Street in Clarendon. The studio replaces the former Sukha Center and will offer 50-minute classes—private training sessions start at $150. ARLnow

- ➤ Cardinal Elementary School's new stormwater vault under its ballfield in Highland Park-Overlee Knolls held up during heavy rains, reaching its highest water level on June 13 after a 15-minute shower dropped 0.84 inches of rain without overflowing. The $18 million vault, built in fall 2023 (with a capacity of 540,000 cubic feet), has activated 19 times this year as part of Arlington’s flood mitigation plan following flash floods in 2019. ARLnow

- ➤ New motions were filed Friday by the ACLU of Virginia, Protect Democracy and WilmerHale in a federal suit challenging the state’s ban on voting by people with felony convictions.
