- ➤ Twelve restaurants in Arlington and Falls Church are joining a Foodie Trek program where visitors can collect passport stamps for a chance to win one of three prize baskets. The program began on June 1 and will run until Aug. 31; at least 600 passports have been given out so far—organizers may make the event a regular offer if it does well. ARLnow

- ➤ Four people have been sentenced to prison after they kidnapped, assaulted, and stole from an 83-year-old Arlington man on Dec. 30, 2023, in a scheme linked to a $4,000 drug debt + he sustained injuries before escaping and receiving hospital treatment. DC News Now
- ➤ ICE detained undocumented man Alvaro Alejandro Pacheco Ramos on June 26th—after he pleaded guilty in 2023 for involuntary manslaughter for fatally striking a 71-year-old California tourist south of Arlington—with a blood alcohol level of 0.159 recorded at the time of the incident. ARLnow

- ➤ Arlington’s affordable housing plan moved ahead after a Virginia appeals court ruled on Tuesday that the homeowners’ lawsuit did not include essential real estate developers—making the suit incomplete. The decision lets county officials resume the Expanded Housing Options permitting process while homeowners may refile the case once the developers are added. WTOP
