- ➤ Arlington Public Schools is rebuilding ties with local business and nonprofit leaders to expand work-based learning and volunteer programs (including internships, job shadowing, and adult mentoring). Superintendent Francisco Durán said a pilot program will launch next school year (2025 to 2026) as part of the new partnership framework. ARLnow
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Severe storms knocked over 70,000 Dominion Energy and NOVEC customers— including 3,177 in Arlington— without power as of Friday morning. Crews are working to restore electricity as downed trees and damaged wires disrupt service. DC News Now
- ➤ Hundreds of cars lined up before 7:30 a.m. at N. Quincy Street in Arlington for the county’s free E-CARE event, which accepts household hazardous materials, old electronics, and small metal items until 2 p.m. at 1425 N.
