- ➤ Animal Welfare League of Arlington said that two-year-old Pickles McButterpants, a mixed-breed dog who is affectionate and house-savvy, is now available for free adoption thanks to a donation. - ➤ Arlington school officials say APS’s on-time graduation rate for the Class of 2025 is expected to hit a record 95% when final figures are tabulated in the fall—preliminary data shared on June 12 show that the county’s three main high schools have a 97.8% rate and nearly 2,000 graduates were recorded as of mid-June. - ➤ The Arlington School Board voted unanimously last night (Thursday) to select Alexander Duncan III (currently the executive principal at Alexandria City High School) as the new principal of Washington-Liberty High School despite a letter showing support from 158 staff for interim principal Christian Willmore, and Duncan will begin on July 16.
