Stewart—now with the Houston Texans—hosted his annual MSMJ Youth Foundation community event at Historic High View Park in North Arlington where kids enjoyed activities, music, food, and neighborhood celebrations. - ➤ Today, thousands of motorcyclists will ride from the Pentagon through landmarks like the Lincoln Memorial and the White House to honor fallen service members during Rolling to Remember. - ➤ The Yorktown Patriots extended their girls softball season with wins over the Herndon Hornets 10-5 and the Langley Saxons 5-0 in the Liberty District tournament — the victories boosted their winning streak to five games and set them up to host a first-round North Region tournament game next. - ➤ Arlington high school golfers competed in a U.S. Open qualifier at Northwest Golf Course—Logan Reilly from Bishop O’Connell shot a 5-under 67 to finish second by one stroke and will advance to a final 36-hour event on June 2 at Woodmont Country Club—while Finn Watson from Washington-Liberty shot an even-par 72 and did not advance. - ➤ Junior Gabi Netwell helped the Generals win the district track meet by placing in seven events to secure 118 points—six more than their closest rivals—during the two-day outdoor contest in Wakefield. ARLnow
- ➤ The Bishop O’Connell Knights won their 13th consecutive state softball championship with a 1 to 0 win over St. Catherine’s Saints at Dinwiddie Sports Complex — the undefeated team finished the season at 20 to 0 and extended its winning streaks to 75 overall games and 39 state tournament contests. - ➤ Bishop O’Connell Knights' head girls soccer coach Alberto Starace—who coached for 39 years and won 542 games—has been named to the Arlington Sports Hall of Fame along with former player Gabriella Kika Toulouse, who starred at O’Connell and played at Virginia. They join 72 inductees—making 74 total—and the induction dinner is set for Oct. 8 at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Arlington. ARLnow
- ➤ Marymount University Saints won the Atlantic East Conference tournament by defeating Immaculata at Rotary Field in Winchester—earning their first NCAA berth. They finished the season with 19 wins and 16 losses and lost both games in the NCAA regionals in Marshall, Texas, while coach Leigh Murray-Winstead said the team met all of its goals. ARLnow
