  • Travelers planning last-minute flights for Memorial Day weekend should reconsider flying from DCA (23.2% of flights were disrupted in April) as AirHelp’s analysis ranks it among the worst. In contrast, Washington Dulles International Airport (18.6% disruptions) is seen as a more reliable option for on-time travel.  WJLA

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • At a Bicycle Advisory Committee meeting last week in Arlington, members questioned whether the county was fully committed to the 2019 bicycle-safety goals as targets were not being met and school programs lagged behind expectations. Active-transportation planner Brian Shelton said his department was working on progress while concerns remain on whether county leadership is addressing these issues — prompting calls for more decisive action.  ARLnow
  • A half-foot water main broke Friday morning at 850 N. Kensington St.—about 75 customers lost water service while crews worked to repair the break and guided drivers to follow detour instructions; repairs were expected to end by 7 p.m.  DC News Now
  • Arlington’s affordable housing panel said that upcoming changes to local regulations may bring small improvements but will not close the overall gap in affordable housing. The 14-member panel will meet again on June 17 to review local policies alongside those in Fairfax and Alexandria.  ARLnow
  • More than 1,500 soldiers from the Old Guard placed American flags on over 260,000 headstones at Arlington National Cemetery early Thursday morning ahead of Memorial Day.  DC News Now
