  • Taiba Rahmani, a 14-year-old Arlington resident, launched a business selling goods crafted by girls in Afghanistan and has been offered a one-day pop-up shop at Ten Thousand Villages on King Street—supporting fair trade and helping artisans earn a fair wage. CRIME NEWS

  • An Arlington court canceled a preliminary hearing for Tier III registered sex offender Richard Cox, who faces more than 20 charges for allegedly exposing himself in women’s locker rooms at local schools and rec centers last year, and a status hearing is set for June as Fairfax officials face public criticism for not pressing charges.  WJLA

  • Water Park in Crystal City is launching its free Saturday Summer Concert Series at 6 p.m. tomorrow at 1601 Crystal Drive with soul musician Bryan Lee, and weekly Friday night concerts began last month and will run through June 27.   • Soldiers from the third U.S. Infantry Regiment placed more than 260,000 American flags a boot's length from headstones at Arlington National Cemetery on Thursday morning to honor fallen service members ahead of Memorial Day weekend.
