- ➤ Arlington fitness studio M2 by Method Fitness signed a lease at 3901 Fairfax Drive in Virginia Square and will open its new gym location this August offering small group training programs—over the summer, consultations will place clients in one of 26 cohorts with classes held on the hour and monthly rates estimated between $650 and $1,200. EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ The Arlington Outdoor Lab will expand by 85 acres after AOEA buys adjacent land in Fauquier County—this purchase will boost the lab’s size by over a third and add 4,300 feet of trail, allowing more space for student programs and summer campers. AOEA will sell 40 acres to a neighboring owner while beginning master planning for new facilities. ARLnow

- ➤ Arlington County announced that the Spring E-CARE recycling event for electronics and hazardous household materials is rescheduled for June 21 near Washington-Liberty High School—county residents must bring an ID to drop off approved items. The event will collect automotive fluids, batteries, and bicycles for donation to Bikes for the World—items such as large appliances and devices with refrigerants will not be accepted. ARLnow

- ➤ WMATA will launch its Better Bus Network on June 29 to update bus routes and remove more than 500 underused stops—such as the D-8 stop in Edgewood relied on by local riders. The agency advises commuters to use its updated trip planner to find new bus options. DC News Now
REAL ESTATE NEWS
- ➤ On May 10, Arlington County Board approved Carr Properties’ plan to tear down an office building at 3033 Wilson Blvd in Clarendon and build Clarendon Square—a 309-unit building with about 6,000 square feet of retail space and eight affordable apartments set for completion by 2028. Board members also approved moving the county fair’s temporary beer garden to Thomas Jefferson Park and returned meetings to the Bozman Government Center after repairs from a recent pipe break.
