- ➤ A man was charged with DUI and refusal of breath/blood test after he crashed his truck into a building and a telephone pole on Saturday at 12:16 p.m. in the 900 block of S. Rolfe Street—no one was hurt and there was no major structural damage. DC News Now
- ➤ Arlington Police arrested a man on Saturday—after officers responded at 6:59 p.m. to reports of a shot fired in the 1300 block of S. Dinwiddie Street—and recovered a firearm with no one hurt while charges are pending. DC News Now

- ➤ The Marymount University Saints women's lacrosse team finished the regular season with a 15-2 record after a home win at Long Bridge Park. The team will be the top seed in the Atlantic East Conference tournament while senior goalie Hannah Smith earned Defensive Player of the Week. ARLnow
- ➤ At the recent Gainesville Cardinal Classic meet at Gainesville High School, Washington-Liberty athletes competed in many events as Camille Walker finished 17th in the girls discus and also placed in the triple jump, 100 hurdles, shot put and dash. Other Generals, including Gabriela Netwall who won the 400 in 56.15 seconds, showed strong finishes—highlighting the team’s busy performance throughout the meet. ARLnow
- ➤ Arlington Babe Ruth will celebrate its 40th anniversary on Saturday, May 3 from 5 to 9 p.m. at Barcroft Park—serving as both an anniversary event and the league’s opening ceremony for players ages 4 to 12—featuring a team parade, carnival games, a memorabilia tent and a free MLB Pitch Hit & Run competition for players up to age 14 with special guests including legacy families and former league president J.P. Cooney. This event will showcase local baseball talent and honor decades of community tradition. ARLnow
- ➤ Former Yorktown standout M.J. Stewart is preparing for his eighth NFL season with the Houston Texans this fall while set to host a free community event at High View Park in Arlington on May 17 from noon to 4 p.m. The event will feature a celebrity kickball game + an autograph session for local youth and adults. - ➤ Arlington Wrestling Club had a strong performance at the Warrior Classic held on April 19 at Wakefield High School — its 24 wrestlers won two individual championships and six others finished in the top four. - ➤ The Washington-Liberty Generals girls soccer team has a 7-1 record with five shutouts and only three goals allowed so far this spring, aided by new head coach David Woods and 13 seniors. The team will host the Yorktown Patriots in an all-Arlington match Monday, April 28 at 7:15 p.m.—the coach noted his past experience with the players helped the squad gel quickly. ARLnow
