- ➤ Local leaders in DC, Maryland — and Virginia, including Bishop Michael F. Burbidge from Arlington, honored the late Pope Francis after the Vatican announced his death on Easter Monday at age 88. Burbidge will hold a memorial Mass at the Cathedral of Saint Thomas More on Wednesday at 12:05 p.m. as regional officials, including Mayor Muriel Bowser and Gov. - ➤ A Virginia State Police chase ended near Fairlington on April 19th when a suspect vehicle collided with a WMATA bus and a minivan—three passengers were released, the bus driver was unharmed, the minivan driver was hospitalized, and the 21-year-old suspect was arrested on multiple felony charges.
