  • Today at 4 p.m., the new Green Valley Farmers Market opened at John Robinson Jr. Town Square with eight signed vendors (and eight info providers) despite uncertain weather. The market will run every Friday (4-7 p.m.) as residents shop and connect locally.  The Arlington Connection

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Lost Dog Cafe owner James Barnes saw a 10% drop in sales from 2023 to 2024 and said that if his numbers drop another 8.75% by year's end he may shutter the business in 2026 due to delivery challenges caused by Columbia Pike construction—cutting off 70% to 80% of his carryout and delivery revenue. County officials and Arlington Economic Development are offering support to help struggling restaurants—assistance is available as roadwork nears substantial completion later this year.  ARLnow

  • Arlington police responded on April 15 at the Pentagon City Metro Station when a group trying to evade fares assaulted a Metro Transit Police officer—leading to multiple foot chases and the arrest of five individuals, including one adult and four juveniles.  ARLnow

  • After a circuit court judge struck down Arlington’s Missing Middle zoning changes, many developers with approved EHO permits shifted to single-family projects. County records show that 16 of 45 projects made this pivot—new applications continue as the county prepares to update its data soon.  ARLnow
