- ➤ At yesterday’s progress luncheon, executive director Andrew Schneider announced a new logo that uses a stylized design with four dots on the I to show busy retail nodes and a waving K to greet locals—an effort to rebrand the Pike as roadwork nears its end later this year. The design also features a lowercase E that evokes community familiarity and signals a new chapter for local economic growth. ARLnow

- ➤ The Arlington Historical Society Museum will reopen on Saturday, May 3 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 1805 S. Arlington Ridge Road after months of renovation that preserved 47 windows and expanded exhibit space—new displays include a feature honoring the contributions of enslaved people. ARLnow
- ➤ Today, a new album called Imagine That: The Lost Recordings by Patsy Cline — which includes 48 unreleased songs — was released for Record Store Day. The album features live recordings from D.C. and Virginia and two songs from the old WARL radio station in Arlington, and her daughter said it feels like she is alive again. NBC Washington

- ➤ A former Arlington School Board member published her memoir, Dreams and Shadows: An Immigrant's Journey, which tells of her work in Arlington Public Schools and her fight for immigrant students—she recalls personal loss and rising through tough challenges from Bolivia to local politics. - ➤ Today the Rosslyn BID launches its pilot Safety Rangers program to patrol the district from noon to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday until the end of June; the team will support law enforcement and assist residents and visitors with directions and safe walks — a measure to enhance community security. - ➤ U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement said that Washington, D.C. and Northern Virginia communities did not honor detainers, allowing violent criminals like Marvin Mateo-Alberto—charged with child sex crimes—to be released back into the community.
