- ➤ American Airlines Flight 5490 struck Flight 4522 on a taxiway at Reagan National on Thursday afternoon, causing minor winglet damage on both planes while no injuries were reported and the FAA investigated the incident as replacement aircraft were arranged for passengers. WJLA
- ➤ More than two months after a 71-year-old man drove a speeding pickup truck the wrong way at the Wilson Blvd and N. Glebe Road intersection on January 27th and struck a vehicle carrying 32-year-old McLean resident Xuewei He, he remains hospitalized while Arlington police continue to investigate the fatal crash. - ➤ U.S. Marshals arrested 22-year-old Tyler Jordan Clendenen near Ballston Metro on Tuesday—he was booked on charges including armed robbery and other crimes and appeared in Arlington General District Court for arraignment on Thursday before being set for extradition to Maryland. ARLnow

- ➤ New data showed that unemployment claims in Northern Virginia jumped 7.1% from January to February with 53,394 residents filing for benefits—federal layoffs drove the increase that could affect local federal workers in Arlington. - ➤ Residents on Glenmore Avenue are angry with the new road design that replaced speed bumps with zigzag lines two weeks ago. They say drivers still speed and now ask City Hall to fix the problem—worrying that a big crash might happen—since the change did not slow traffic. WJLA
- ➤ Arlington County’s Board voted last night to approve a $1.7B budget that raises the meals tax from 4% to 5% starting July 1 while keeping property taxes at $1.033 per $100 value. The board chose not to raise real estate taxes further and cut 44 staff positions to boost reserve funds and support social services during tough economic times — a move aimed at protecting vulnerable residents. - ➤ DEA Washington Division Special Agent In Charge Ibrar Mian is inviting residents in D.C., Maryland and Virginia to take the DEA Challenge — a program that uses data to target drug trafficking rings selling fentanyl, meth and cocaine. Glebe Road with 37 townhouses, 494 rental units, and nine affordable apartments on a 5.52 acre site—developers agreed to pay over $2 million to the Affordable Housing Investment Fund and hold quarterly meetings with residents through 2028.
