ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • On Saturday, a United Airlines flight from Houston hit a kite while landing at Reagan National Airport and landed safely with 126 passengers and five crew after pilots reported the kite flying over Gravelly Point (a park near the runway).  WTOP
  • Arlington Fire and EMS responded to a car fire in a parking garage on the 1300 block of Crystal Drive Saturday evening—firefighters quickly put out the flames and no one was hurt as the fire marshal began investigating the cause.  WJLA
  • On March 30th a house fire in Fairlington sent three firefighters to the hospital after one fell through a floor in a townhouse on the 4100 block of 36th Street S. near the Alexandria border—firefighters from Arlington and Alexandria quickly extinguished the blaze and an investigation into the cause is underway.  ARLnow

CRIME NEWS

  • Three juveniles, including a 13-year-old girl, a 15-year-old girl and a 14-year-old boy, were charged after multiple fights broke out at the Fashion Centre at Pentagon City on March 29th—prompting Arlington police to evacuate the mall and boost patrols in the area.  WJLA

ECONOMY NEWS

  • The cherry blossom festival broke Metro ridership records on March 29th when 710,000 riders traveled, marking the busiest day since 2019—bringing in $202 million from visitors.  WJLA
